DOMINIQUE BRANCATO

About the Artist
Dominique Brancato is a multidisciplinary artist who works with printmaking, painting, embroidery, and paper making. Her practice draws inspiration from her childhood and the house she grew up in, often turning to the overlooked and the mundane as sources of quiet beauty. Through her work, she explores how simplicity can carry meaning and memory. Brancato received her BFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in 2020. Since graduating, she has used her art to support causes close to her heart, raising funds for organizations such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the Alzheimer’s Foundation. She also teaches children at local art studios, encouraging creativity and self-expression in young artists. She creates with the belief that art can bring people together, connecting personal memories with shared experiences.
"My work focuses on the small, often overlooked moments that surround me. I find inspiration in the quiet details of my childhood home like the mailbox my mother once decorated with jewels, and the light switch covers at my Grandparents’ house that my Grandmother hand-painted. Over time, the jewels have fallen off, leaving faint outlines of where they once were, and spiderwebs have gathered while we’re away. One day, out of boredom, my Grandma painted tiny flowers on every light switch and outlet cover. Something I never noticed until recently. These small gestures and traces of care remind me that beauty exists in the unnoticed details, waiting to be rediscovered."
